In the Year of the Tablet, Kensington has the Perfect Accessory

Aylesbury, December 10, 2012: With analysts predicting that tablet sales are set for a further surge this Christmas, Kensington has prepared a wide range of accessories for popular devices that are on sale now - with a price range to match every gift budget. Kensington's attractive range of cases provide flexibility, protection, security and help boost productivity, with cases available for all leading tablet models on sale today, including the iPad and iPad mini, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Amazon Kindle .

With prices starting at under GBP/EUR 20.00, protecting a tablet against bumps, knocks and scratches with a Kensington accessory is a good investment. A folio cover can save a fragile tablet from sustaining damage when dropped - most commonly a cracked screen - and costs less than even the cheapest DIY screen replacement kit.

A Cover for Every Tablet

With the Apple iPad mini expected to be one of this year's biggest Christmas hits, Kensington has a full line up of accessories, starting with the KeyFolio Pro 2 Keyboard, Case & Stand for iPad mini, available from mid-December, which protects the iPad mini while also providing a tactile keyboard with high-performance keys optimized for touch typists. Users who want to cover the screen for carrying around the iPad mini can choose a Protective Cover & Stand for iPad mini, a hard shell exterior with full access to all buttons and ports. The two-position stand makes it possible to find the perfect angle for typing on the screen, and also for watching videos. Kensington also has a range of sleek but functional Protective Back Covers for iPad mini, in a range of bright colors including teal, grey, purple and white.

For the full-size Apple iPad, Kensington has one of the most comprehensive, high-quality ranges of covers and productivity enhancements. No less than four different KeyFolio lines mean there's a KeyFolio for everyone. For the road warrior carrying their entire office around with them, Kensington has a perfect, practical gift idea: the KeyFolio Executive for iPad 2 and iPad with Retina display, available in sober black and striking red. Combining a folio case for the iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard and a mobile organizer which includes a full-size A4 notepad held securely in a ring binder, KeyFolio Executive comes in a zippered case which keeps iPad and paperwork safe and secure, and also acts as an adjustable stand for viewing content on the iPad screen.

iPad users who need a keyboard but hate the additional bulk should look no further than the Kensington KeyLite Slim Touch Keyboard Folio available for iPad with Retina display. This provides the best of both worlds: an ultra slim, ultra-light, stylish and durable design folio cover combined with a waterproof, touch-sensitive Bluetooth keyboard. Further models in the Kensington KeyFolio range for iPad users are the KeyFolio Pro 2 with removable keyboard for iPad 2 and iPad with Retina display, and the flexible KeyFolio Expert model.

For iPad users who simply want to keep the weight down, but still avoid getting their device dirty or scratched, Kensington's TriFold Folio Case is the answer. Suitable for iPad 2 and iPad with Retina display, it combines a tough outer shell which also folds back to act as a multi-position stand ideal for both portrait and landscape use. When closed, the cover automatically puts the iPad into sleep mode, and a soft microfiber lining helps avoid scratches. The TriFold is available in red, black, grey or marble.

Wacom Bamboo Stylus feel: From now on using mobile devices will feel different

Wacom launches Bamboo Stylus feel, the leading-edge, ‘active pen' range for consumer gadgets

4th December 2012 - Today, Wacom announces an addition to its successful Bamboo Stylus range: Bamboo Stylus feel. These pressure sensitive and natural-feel pens are initially available for the latest-generation Windows 8 and Android tablets based on Wacom feel IT Technologies.

Writing, sketching, photo editing, doodling or creating mind-maps even on the go: The stylus is ready to hand for whenever inspiration strikes, transferring all of the advantages of using pen and paper directly to the digital world.

The feel range of the popular Bamboo Stylus pens feature advanced, active Wacom ‘feel IT' Technologies, that work with a special sensor built into a number of leading mobile devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Compared to capacitive styli - among them the Bamboo Stylus solo, duo and pocket available for iPad, iPhone and other touchscreens - the new Bamboo Stylus also allows pressure sensitive pen input on ‘feel' enabled screens while taking notes. Due to Electro-Magnetic Resonance (EMR) technology, pen and tablet communicate with each other via waves, not just via touch - promising better accuracy and precision.

Kyocera Document Solutions introduces two A3 Smart MFPs

Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, introduced two Smart MFPs today. Replacing the FS-C8020MFP and FS-C8025MFP, the new FS-C8520MFP and FS-C8525MFP offer a professional solution for end users who require A3 colour printing with a low initial purchase price and low TCO. Embedded HyPAS* technology enables individual one-click operations for better productivity.

The technology used in the successful predecessors has been further refined to reduce the Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) by 20% in the new FS-C8520MFP and FS-C8525MFP, with the power consumption reduced to 0.9W in sleep mode. HyPAS functionality is now possible with a compact flash card for customization requests. Lastly, the 1.5GB standard memory enables extra security solutions, including private print functionality.

Kyocera calls their new FS-C8520MFP and FS-C8525MFP Smart MFPs because they combine ease of use, reliability and low environmental impact in a compact design. Both models are easy to operate with an intuitive colour touch panel that gives quick access to all functions. The set-up and installation is straightforward with the installation wizard. Thanks to the toner-only technology, which, along with long-life components, is part of the Kyocera Ecosys concept, the new devices have a low environmental impact and require minimal servicing, as the end-user only needs to replace the toner. When printing up to 200,000 pages over the device's lifespan, or 3,000 pages per month, there is no need for a service or maintenance contract, which is a standard requirement for most other A3 MFPs on the market. The device's printing capacity can be extended with an additional maintenance kit.

“Kyocera’s new Smart MFPs offer a good solution for small to medium businesses with a small budget, but who want the functionalities and benefits of a professional A3 colour MFP,” explains Noriko Ishii, Product Manager Kyocera Document Solutions Europe. “Especially as these attractive models with their compact 360° design, are easy to use, easy to install and easy to maintain and have 20% lower energy consumption than the models they replace.”

* HyPAS (Hybrid Platform for Advanced Solutions) optimises the performance of Kyocera MFPs through a series of custom, integrated software applications to enhance information sharing, to optimise resources and to improve existing, as well as future document workflows.
