Belkin has today announced the launch of a new range of routers and modem routers designed to let you do more with more devices, in more locations. Engineered with Belkin's exclusive MultiBeam technology for maximum speed and coverage, the range shows Belkin's commitment to developing high-performance networking solutions to support the increasing numbers of wireless devices throughout the home.
"People are adding more and more connected devices to their home networks, from smartphones and tablets, to Internet TVs and gaming consoles. The type of internet traffic is also changing, with less simple email and web browsing, and more demand for streaming high-definition movies, downloading music and playing games online. All of Belkin's new routers feature MultiBeam, an exclusive technology that provides greater throughput at wider distances. This ensures higher data rates, faster speeds, and stronger wireless signals throughout the home to minimise dead spots and enable you to connect multiple devices in more places. The P7 Antennae featured in the new range offers greater coverage than other routers, but also a more usable coverage footprint.
Many standard antennae offer a coverage footprint which is wide, but flat. That can mean that while there is a signal present over a wide area at the same level as the router, users above or below it may get little or no signal. In a house this may mean being unable to connect on floors above or below the router.
Belkin's exclusive MultiBeam technology offers unrivalled coverage by using a mixture of specialised antennae to offer the largest and most usable coverage footprint, above and below as well as on the same level as the router. In addition, the Implicit Beam Forming feature on the N750 DB allows the router to focus radio power on the clients which are actively using the connection at any given time.
The Belkin N450 DB, N600 DB and N750 DB routers also feature dual-band channels to eliminate interference and optimise performance for bandwidth-intensive applications such as high-definition video streaming. All the products in the range come with Belkin's Easy Setup, designed to get you from box to browsing in three easy steps, and pre-configured encryption settings for built-in wireless security.
