Buffalo Technology launches next generation Windows Storage Server series and enhances its market-leading wireless range

New TeraStation WSS 2012 R2 offers businesses a cost-effective solution to IP storage.

London, UK, 5 February 2014 - Buffalo Technology, the global manufacturer of storage and networking solutions, today announces the launch of its economical and high performing Windows Storage Server R2 and iSCSI solution for small and medium sized businesses or test environments with the TeraStation WSS 2012 (WS5000R2 series).  

The new TeraStation WSS 2012 R2 series combines high-performance NAS with the power and convenience of Windows operating system, providing a seamless, efficient and secure solution to network integration and BYOD. The fully populated series, in either Rackmount or Desktop formats, is available with various capacities from 4 to 24TB. Itcomes equipped with powerful Intel Atom Dual-Core processors -either the D2550 for 2 and 4 bay models, or the D2700 for 6 bay and Rackmount - providing a scalable solution that can support even the most demanding business requirements.

Once deployed, the WS5000R2 enables Active Directory integration, enabling networks to automate access and manage storage in the same way as they do their Windows Server. PowerShell and Microsoft Systems Center are ready-to-use, as well as a flexible choice of storage protocols.

Supported by RAID the device provides a secure backup function, ensuring data is never compromised. In addition hot swap functionality allows users to change disks without the need for downtime.

AirStationTM wireless AC866 / N600 Dual Band Router

Buffalo's new Dual Band Gigabit router (WHR-1166D-EU) further enhances Buffalo's wireless offering. The WHR-1166D-EU provides simultaneous transfer speeds of up to 300MBps in both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bandwidths. The device comes with a USB 2.0 port, media server, device server, and BitTorrentTM  for easy file sharing across all connected devices. Buffalo's latest offering also includes parental control by Symantec ConnectSafe, making this router essential for the home.
